Bradley J. Hughes

Bradley (Brad) began the vision for Tough Draw in 2007 while sitting in a University of Texas Screenwriting class. When given the assignment of writing the first act of a feature film; his mind immediately went back to his West Texas roots and his favorite sport – bull riding.

Hughes left Texas in 2008, when he was accepted into the UTLA program and spent the entire summer in Los Angeles interning in Hollywood for Ridley Scott at Scott Free Productions and for Ron Howard at Imagine Entertainment. During that time, Brad had a small hand in such projects as “Body of Lies,” “Robin Hood,” “The Incredible Shrinking Man,” and “Friday Night Lights.”

Upon Brad’s return to Texas, he was employed by Lockheed Martin where he shot and edited videos for Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, as well as Lockheed Martin Aeronautics where he helped produce commercials for the F-35 program. He walked away from Lockheed Martin in 2012 to start his own production company with long-time friend, James Trawick. Today their passion for the western culture and community has led to them co-founding Tough Draw as a brand, where he is a producer/director on story-driven content. He currently resides in Fort Worth, Texas with his wife and two sons.

James D Trawick

James comes from a long line of small business owners and was brought up around entrepreneurial minds.

At a young age, James learned to ride horses, work cattle and eventually followed in his father‘s footsteps as a competitive Team Roper. Throughout high school and early college, James competed at all levels of the sport and ultimately walked away from rodeo to work in film production. James has experience filming live music production, short films, nature and wildlife conservation, narrative driven music videos and various bodies of marketing content. He attended the University of North Texas where he pursued a degree in Radio, Television and Film. Not long after, he began working as an actor and model, but realized that his skill set was better suited in the producing role. James is excellent at bringing the right people together and motivating them towards a unified goal.

As a co-founder of Tough Draw, James serves as a producer/director where he exercises his passion for entrepreneurship and his love of the artistry in the visual medium. James currently resides in Godley, TX with his wife, two dogs and two horses and is excited about producing a film in Texas with other Texas Natives.

Jordan Thiem

Jordan Thiem was born on August 8, 1992 in Austin, Texas, USA. He is a cinematographer known for the Lane Frost Documentary (2021). He is a multi-skilled artist with credits in Composing, Music Production, Film, and Photography. Jordan is also an entrepreneur and owns the coffee chain 2Rivers Coffee based in New Braunfels, Texas, USA.

Caleb Cowart

Executive Producer

Caleb is a 3rd generation partner on a cow-calf operation in Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Management with a minor in Law. Caleb has brought to our company the ability to use his influence, knowledge, business instincts and ambition to position the Tough Draw team to achieve our goals as a company. Caleb currently resides in Texas with his wife and daughter and is expecting a son soon.
